Ahhhhhh. So nice to wake up the morning of Joanna and Jim's wedding and just hop in a cab over to the hotel. Traveling is awesome... but keeping it local has its perks.

So gorgeous... Everyone kept saying Joanna looked like Grace Kelly. I tend to agree!

Joanna and Jim took off on a DEAD run toward the church after we got done shooting. I have never before seen anyone haul through rainy midtown NYC in heels like that! I couldn't keep up.

And a few from the reception (man, I love these expressions!!)

i didn't partake in the glorious hunt on thanksgiving, but i did grab some shots of brothers and nephews proudly displaying their sand sharks -- the only fish anyone could catch. not a single edible fish. good thing we'd left part of the slusher clan back at the house cooking back-up food. we make lousy fishermen/women. :)

Wil found a piece of driftwood/pirate shipwreck debris.
After a grueling 8-hour Chinatown bus ride to my brother's house in Newport News, VA (I always vow "never again!" after taking that bus but somehow keep riding it) I finally made it to Nags Head, NC with my parents, three brothers, aunts and uncles and many, many kids. I don't know about Thanksgiving dinner, but I definitely plan to gorge myself on salt water taffy.

Wil and I can always find a reason to hold a seance. Naturally, being on the Outer Banks will require a summoning of the legendary pirate, Blackbeard.

When Wil found the camera pointed at some new subjects, he decided he wanted in on it. (But I think he was right; an ecstatic, bouncing 8-year-old face in the foreground was exactly what these photos needed.)

Only one degree of separation between me and Tim Gunn now... :) Erica stars tonight in the season finale. Here's what the Project Runway blog said about it:
"Tim's client for this special episode is Erica, a bride-to-be with a serious confidence problem. Her tall stature leaves her self-conscious with every outfit she tries on. Can Tim help her restore her faith in herself in time to step into the spotlight on her wedding day?"

I've been wanting to own a painting by Mehlman for ages, and finally got lucky enough to win a small painting called "Cat Walk" from a BWAC art auction.. I just got it in the mail yesterday!
Russell's a local Brooklyn painter whose work has won multiple awards. Check out his work; it's pretty fantastic.
