This is Isabelle.
She is my amazing new studio manager (as well as next-door neighbor, violin-piano concerto partner, fellow cat-owner and new, dear friend!)
Isabelle started second-shooting for me in September of last year and has since become an invaluable part of managing my business. If you're having an album designed, Isabelle will be behind the scenes! She is full of ideas. More on Isabelle to come.
Here's 5 random things she said:
+ I have large teeth.
+ I often have to stop myself from singing in public places.
+ I'd like to visit every continent, yes Antarctica!
+ I went to Hong Kong while is was still under Brit rule.
+ Could probably eat spaghetti with tomato sauce every day?
Our friends Gary and Yen from Real Food Catering were sweet enough to invite us to a tasty evening at the Prince George Ballroom last night. It featured all of the Ballroom's preferred catering companies -- here's a basic rundown of our thoughts + some iPhone snaps!
The Prince George Ballroom is a gorgeous space on E 27th st -- photos from Amanda + Isaac's wedding to follow in next post.
(You really couldn't go wrong with any of these vendors, but our personal favorites from the night were Real Food and Ark. Mmm.)
**Real Food Catering

Loved their smart, modern display! These plates really decorate a room. The chicken tarts were sitting on a bed of tapioca, and the tuna crackers are in a bed of Asian black beans. So pretty (and yummy).
+ Curried chicken in a flaky tart
+ Tuna and ginger on a sesame cracker
**Ark Catering

+ Tiramisu on spoon - most delicious dessert
+ Raspberry Creme Tart
+ Cucumber with veggie/tuna blend on top -- so light and refreshing!!
+ Delicious grilled veggies and cheeses. I loved the asparagus.
+ Wide selection of tasty (but still light!) treats
Food Matters - Tuscany Station on display

+ Locally sourced food
+ Smoked salmon with caviar and a cream cheese in a pastry shell (nommm nommm)
+ Lobster ravioli
Abigail Kirsch

+ Pomegranate-tequila cocktail infused with ginger
+ Mac 'n cheese over beef
+ Dessert Station with caramelized popcorn
Thomas Preti

We didn't actually try this one because we were too full by the time we got there. But it looked too good to ignore.
+ Inventive ideas, brought toasters to display their homemade poptarts
+ Homemade chicken pop tarts with hush puppies and banana pudding
+ Comprehensive plate setting so you could get the whole idea of the plate
Neuman's

+ Beef over potato gratin with a sprinkling of delicious brussel sprouts
+ Cool, rustic woodsy table settings with pretty moss centerpieces
On the Move: Classic Rock Trio

This fun, laid back trio played the whole evening. Super friendly and energetic.
+ Good time, instrumental group who played all the right classic hits
+ Perfect for your cocktail hour or a small restaurant reception

(01.08.11 @ 10:28 PM)HOTNESS!!! :)
(03.07.11 @ 04:56 PM)I have a heaping handful of shoots I want to blog about, but I felt like posting this one as I'm listening to the John Coltrane record Josh just gave me. :) I now know I've never listened to real jazz before...
Andy would call himself a drifter and I met him at the Rabbit Hole (cafe around my corner) on his NY circuit back to New Orleans. He was laughing boisterously loudly from a table away which was hard not to catch onto, despite the fact I didn't know him or what was funny. He became a Rabbit Hole regular I always counted on seeing when getting coffee (and taking a break from editing!) We shot these photos at Coney Island a few days before he drove back to New Orleans. Thanks to Jaimie for lighting for us.

Ah! This guy was such a character! Great shots of his personality, Lauren.
(10.18.09 @ 06:39 PM)Brilliant lighting effects used here. Very surreal. Fab!
(05.27.10 @ 06:17 AM)I was excited when they contacted me for a year-later photo session -- this time, New York-style. So with bubbles, high heels, and photo gear in tow, we sauntered around the park near the Brooklyn Museum until after dark.

Lauren, These are really great images of a fantastic couple. Well done, I especially like the first one.
(09.14.09 @ 12:08 PM)Lauren, you are an incredible person... and a spectacular photographer.
(09.14.09 @ 01:27 PM)Lauren...FANTASTIC blend of nature and surroundings with subjects. The silhouette shot (above) is a classic!
(09.14.09 @ 03:44 PM)I love your photos, very wide angled and interesting.
(09.22.09 @ 04:05 AM)Lauren, these are AMAZING!!! I can't wait to work together!
